Softball Recap: Oak Ridge's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Oak Ridge brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past the Campbell County Cougars 19-2 on Tuesday. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Emmerson Bradshaw made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Morgan Perry was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taryn McGuire, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Oak Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Oak Ridge moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Campbell County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Ridge will challenge Karns at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Campbell County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Campbell County Cougars challenge Knoxville Central Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
