The Boles Hornets fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Cooper Bulldogs on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 74-71. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boles in their matchups with Cooper: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Boles lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jonathan Cruthird. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 45.1% of Boles' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Mcfadden, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
