The Colorado Springs Christian Lions will host the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colorado Springs Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Banning Lewis Academy likes a good challenge.
Colorado Springs Christian is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against The Vanguard School on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Colorado Springs Christian came up short against The Vanguard School, falling 89-63. The Lions have struggled against the Coursers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Banning Lewis Academy had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Wednesday. They really took it to the Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-27 victory. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 28 points or more this season.
Colorado Springs Christian better keep an eye on Trey Oden. He was instrumental in Banning Lewis Academy's win, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Oden is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Jones, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards.
Banning Lewis Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive games.
Banning Lewis Academy pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points over those games. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Colorado Springs Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Banning Lewis Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Colorado Springs Christian came up short against Banning Lewis Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 65-54. Can Colorado Springs Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
