Scenic Bluffs recap October 22, 2013
Brookwood extended the longest winning streak in Scenic Bluffs this week by beating Bangor, 40-21. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Hillsboro was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Tigers triumphed over Wonewoc-Center 53-16.
Cashton's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Schmitz threw for 94 and 1 touchdown and Jaden Schmitz had 72 yards receiving. On the ground Schmitz chipped in 146 yards. Jon Perry helped Cashton's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.
Schmitz was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 146 yards on 28 carries as the Eagles fell to Necedah. Teammate Ethan Leis added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Dominic Luxton and Paul Ryan, Brookwood has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Luxton is tops in the league in passing with 766 yards, while Ryan has rushed for 898 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Cashton's Schmitz, with 294 yards on 42 catches.
Hillsboro led Scenic Bluffs in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on the Wolves.
