Softball Recap: Toutle Lake Wins Going Away Against Morton/White Pass

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Adna, Toutle Lake was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Morton/White Pass Timberwolves with a sharp 13-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Ducks needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Karly Opsahl and Keira Auckland did most of the damage at the plate: Opsahl got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Auckland went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Opsahl has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kinley King, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Toutle Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Toutle Lake's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7. As for Morton/White Pass, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Coming up, Toutle Lake will venture away from home to square off against Toledo at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Ducks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morton/White Pass, they will welcome Winlock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.6 runs per game on average), something the Timberwolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
