Basketball Recap: Polytechnic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Trimble Tech

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Polytechnic). They breezed by the Trimble Tech Bulldogs to the tune of 51-4 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Polytechnic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cecilia Aguilar, who posted 20 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Aguilar a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Serenity Tolbert, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Polytechnic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Polytechnic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points per game. As for Trimble Tech, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Polytechnic has already played their next matchup (against Arlington Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Trimble Tech will be playing at home against South Hills at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Trimble Tech is facing South Hills at the right time seeing as South Hills is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
