The Butte County Pirates were the 54-49 winner over the Challis Vikings when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Butte County was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 48-47 to Challis. It was the first time this season that Butte County let down their fans at home.
Challis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacen Farr led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brayden Ollar, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Butte County's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Challis, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Butte County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-49 victory vs. Grace on the 10th. Challis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
