The Jarrell Cougars entered their tilt with the Savio Eagles with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Jarrell walked away with a 59-47 victory over Savio on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Jarrell, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jarrell found their leader in underclassman Aniya Taylor, who scored 22 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Taylor has scored at least 25% of Jarrell's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydyn Edwards, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Jarrell is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Savio, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jarrell will face off against Gatesville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gatesville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Savio will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Founders Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
