Basketball Recap: Clint Skates Past Anthony with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clint). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-6 victory over the Anthony Wildcats. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clint to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vianney Mizcles, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Mizcles is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is undefeated (and 1-6 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Annika Rueda, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Clint smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. They are 2-1 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Clint's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Anthony, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Clint will be playing at home against Horizon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scorpions' defense has only allowed 24 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Anthony, they and Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
