Baseball Recap: Highland Tech Has No Trouble Against Bethany Community

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Highland Tech walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Bethany Community Wolves on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Trey Costner, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Highland Tech: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 6-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Bradley, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Highland Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethany Community only posted an OBP of .394.

The victory snapped Highland Tech's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-12 record. As for Bethany Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-6.

Looking ahead, Highland Tech will challenge Draughn on Friday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. Bethany Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
