The Hampton Roads Academy Navigators will be playing at home against the Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton Roads Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Hampton Roads Academy put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Norfolk Academy 52-24 on the road.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hampton Roads Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zuriel Pendleton-morant, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Pendleton-morant is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Lasley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Norfolk Collegiate unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 76-30 loss at the hands of Norfolk Christian. While losing is never fun, Norfolk Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Ambassadors are ranked 26th).
Hampton Roads Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Norfolk Collegiate, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Hampton Roads Academy strolled past the Mighty Oaks in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 49-33. Does Hampton Roads Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mighty Oaks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
