Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Walter Johnson Wildcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Wise on Friday, falling 42-14. Walter Johnson was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Wise's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Butler, who picked up 137 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kameron Parker also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Walter Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Wise, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Walter Johnson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wise will square off against Eleanor Roosevelt at TBD on Friday. Eleanor Roosevelt is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
