Everything went their way against First Christian as St. John Lutheran made off with a 68-44 victory. St. John Lutheran's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Arisa Ford, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayla joy Bowen, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the defeat, First Christian saw an underclassman step up: Reagan Davis scored 34 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 77.3% of First Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
First Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as St. John Lutheran pulled down 28 offensive rebounds.
St. John Lutheran pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for First Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
St. John Lutheran will be playing at home against Redeemer Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redeemer Christian's defense has only allowed 27.1 points per game this season, so St. John Lutheran's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for First Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Gainesville Christian Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Gainesville Christian Community comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
