This season hasn't been kind to the Emerson Vo-Tech Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a hard 59-41 fall against Riverside on Monday. Emerson Vo-Tech was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Frontiers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Javon Elliot continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Riverside, scoring 36 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Elliot has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nelson Camacho, who scored six points.
Emerson Vo-Tech's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Riverside, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emerson Vo-Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Owls at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Olmsted knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Frontiers like a good challenge.
