Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Centennial Hawks, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell to Las Cruces 38-34. Centennial's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Centennial lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Zaiden Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 279 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry. Davis' longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Las Cruces, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Las Cruces also has no future games currently scheduled.
