The Lakewood Gators lost against the Marlboro County Bulldogs last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lakewood fell 56-43 to Marlboro County.
When it comes to explaining why Lakewood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cedric Cisse. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. Cisse hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Darius Spann, who scored eight points.
Marlboro County can attribute much of their success to Ralphier Monroe, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monroe has scored all season. Jaitez Barbour was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Marlboro County, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Crestwood the next time they take the court. Marlboro County will host Crestwood at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lakewood will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
