It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Savannah Christian Raiders had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Indians as they made off with a 42-21 win. The result was nothing new for Savannah Christian, who have now won nine games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Savannah Christian was led to victory by Zo Smalls and Kenry Wall. Smalls rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, while Wall rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Smalls hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for five straight games.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Sullens, who rushed for 155 yards. Sullens is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
The victory (which was Savannah Christian's eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.6 points per game. As for Lumpkin County, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-1.
Savannah Christian is on the road again on Friday and play against Carver at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Carver will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. Lumpkin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
