The Coeur d'Alene Vikings will face off against the Eagle Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Coeur d'Alene comes in on five and Eagle on ten.
With a playoff game on the line, Coeur d'Alene rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down Rocky Mountain 24-8. Coeur d'Alene pushed the score to 24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Rocky Mountain cut but never quite recovered from.
Coeur d'Alene can attribute much of their success to Caden Symons, who threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and Owen Harris, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Eagle faced Rigby in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eagle narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Rigby 17-14.
Their wins bumped Coeur d'Alene to 8-2 and Eagle to 10-0.
Coeur d'Alene came up short against Eagle when the teams last played back in November of 2021, falling 22-14. Can Coeur d'Alene avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
