Cienega has gone 7-2 against Marana recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Marana took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cienega, who comes in off a win.
Cienega lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Desert View, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 13-6 win on Tuesday. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

ANTHONY MONTEZ was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Cienega: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Cienega let JAMES LINZMEYER and LUTE CHAVEZ run wild. LINZMEYER went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while CHAVEZ went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave CHAVEZ a new career-high. TRISTAN CRUZ was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Marana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Mountain View. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mountain Lions since on Saturday.
Connor Ellis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Preston Robbins, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Cienega has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marana, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.
Marana's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cienega hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. It's a different story for Marana, though, as they've only averaged .199. Will they be able to contain Cienega's hitters?
Cienega came out on top in a nail-biter against Marana in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
