Prairie State recap October 29, 2013
Marquette Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Prairie State this week by beating Metro-East Lutheran, 54-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Explorers.
The Knights lost to Marquette Catholic 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Will Rankin was a bright spot for Metro-East Lutheran, as he caught 8 passes for 154 yards in the loss.
Austin Chausse was a beast in the backfield as Nokomis/Ramsey beat South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville.
Chausse provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Redskins topped the Ponies. Chausse's favorite target this week was Chausse, who caught 3 passes for 37 yards.
Austin Tryon put up the best numbers through the air as South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville lost to Nokomis/Ramsey. He finished with a total of 10 completions for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tryon's favorite target this week was Brody Walton, who caught 6 passes for 80 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Jacob Neihaus and Blake Bartok, Mt. Olive has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Neihaus is tops in the league in passing with 1,321 yards, while Bartok has rushed for 1,013 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Andrew Kohler's team's Rankin, with 872 yards on 32 catches.
Chausse of the gabe cesaretti's team is just 44 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 100 carries Chausse has accumulated 956 yard this year.
The Redskins led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Drew Woodruff's team. Chausse ran for 245 yards and caught 3 passes for 37 yards in the win.
