Mercy won the last time they faced Providence, and Emma Cronen did her part to make sure it happened again. The Jaguars walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Pioneers on Wednesday thanks in part to Cronen, who had 18 digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

The win didn't come easy: Providence scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 21-25, 25-18.

Mercy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Providence, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Mercy has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Girls Prep on the 22nd. As for Providence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory on the 23rd.
