The Timnath Cubs lost against the Sterling Tigers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Timnath took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sterling. Timnath has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Timnath saw an underclassman step up: Andrew Hamlin scored 12 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Hamlin grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Jacobson, who scored 11 points.
Among those leading the charge was Ethan Thyne, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds. Dayten DiOrio was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five steals.
Timnath's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sterling, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timnath will take on DSST: Conservatory Green at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully DSST: Conservatory Green focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Sterling, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wellington at 7:00 p.m. Wellington is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
