The Niceville Eagles were the 50-43 winner over the South Walton Seahawks when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Niceville took a 40-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Walton on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Niceville has scored all season.
Niceville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fred Libby, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Hamman, who scored nine points.
Niceville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as South Walton racked up 11 assists.
South Walton had a senior duo take command as Carson Hawk scored ten points along with five rebounds and Brock Ward scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Walsh, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Niceville bumped their record down to 7-11 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for South Walton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Niceville will be playing in front of their home fans against Rutherford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Walton, they will head out on the road to take on Jay at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
