Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Tampa Christian Academy walked away with it. They blew past the Lions 56-20 on the road on Wednesday. Given North Tampa Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Classical Prep is ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seven Rivers Christian can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They breezed by Academy at the Lakes on the road to the tune of 70-40. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Seven Rivers Christian had established a 22 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seven Rivers Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoey Houle, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Joy Sullivan, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
North Tampa Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. As for Seven Rivers Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.
North Tampa Christian Academy strolled past Seven Rivers Christian in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a score of 68-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Tampa Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
