Buchholz is a perfect 6-0 against Interlachen since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Buchholz will be playing at home against Interlachen at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Buchholz turned things around against P.K. Yonge on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Blue Wave.
The team relied heavily on Juliana Abraham, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kylee Wilson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Abraham wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Buchholz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. Buchholz is a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Interlachen can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over North Marion. The matchup marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season so far.
Harmonie Strauser made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base.
In other batting news, Interlachen got a massive performance out of Baileigh Riddley, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Riddley also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Ashlynn Poole was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Buchholz's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Interlachen, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-7.
Everything went Buchholz's way against Interlachen when the teams last played back in February, as Buchholz made off with a 15-5 victory. Will Buchholz repeat their success, or does Interlachen has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
