They strolled past Bishop McLaughlin Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 43-26. The victory was just what Foundation Christian Academy needed coming off of a 49-11 defeat in their prior contest.
Foundation Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Steffi Chilton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals. Chilton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Brothers, who scored 14 points along with six steals.
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aliana Arana, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Keegan Castelli who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Arana is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played. Nataley Noble was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two blocks.
Foundation Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Foundation Christian Academy will challenge Cambridge Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge Christian's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Foundation Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against All Saints' Academy at 6:00 p.m.
