The Bayside Marlins will head out on the road to challenge the Ocean Lakes Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Bayside is ranked 180th, while Ocean Lakes is ranked 193rd).
On Tuesday, Bayside ended up a good deal behind Salem and lost 58-42. Bayside has struggled against Salem recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Ocean Lakes lost to Landstown at home by a decisive 49-31 margin on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Ocean Lakes saw an underclassman step up: Samara Williams scored no points along with 17 rebounds. Williams has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Allison Ragudo, who scored eight points.
Bayside's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Ocean Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Bayside couldn't quite finish off Ocean Lakes in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 54-51. Can Bayside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
