Softball Recap: Hardin Northern Has No Trouble Against Pandora-Gilboa

Hardin Northern had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Pandora-Gilboa on Thursday. The Polar Bears were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Rockets. Considering the Polar Bears have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Addy Bacon was incredible, firing off five runs, three doubles, and one triple while going 5-for-5. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Baylie Bacon was another key player, going 4-for-5 with five RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hardin Northern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hardin Northern is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardin Northern will face off against Upper Scioto Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they will take on Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
