Morehead has gone 7-2 against Walkertown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Monday, Morehead made easy work of North Forsyth and carried off a 17-2 win. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly 15 runs.
Reed Christman looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Wade, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Morehead: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-12 otherwise. Judson Friese also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Morehead hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Walkertown and T.W. Andrews, and Walkertown kept the tradition alive. The Wolfpack were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Red Raiders on Monday. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by seven runs or more this season.
Caden Joyce and David Olmedo were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Joyce tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Olmedo tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Joyce went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Olmedo went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Olmedo has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Cam Smith was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Devin Blodgett, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Morehead's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Walkertown, their record now sits at 18-6.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Morehead has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Walkertown struggles in that department as they've averaged .521. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Morehead came out on top in a nail-biter against Walkertown in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolfpack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
