The Croatan Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Dixon at home to the tune of 98-42. Croatan has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.
Trey Jones was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Green, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
The win was the third in a row for Croatan, bringing their record for this year to 17-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.3 points per game. As for Dixon, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
Croatan will head out on the road to challenge White Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. White Oak knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Croatan likes a good challenge. As for Dixon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Richlands at 7:30 p.m. Dixon is coming into the matchup with three straight losses at home, meaning Richlands will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
