The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Berne-Knox-Westerlo is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Hudson Falls just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Sunday. They lost 17-5 to the Tigers.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville). Everything went their way against Middleburgh on Saturday as they made off with a 29-1 victory. With that win, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 7.9 runs per game.
Gianna McAdams made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. McAdams was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville got a massive performance out of Audrina Polidori, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. Polidori also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Kali Hazzard was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
