On Thursday, Lotus School For Excellence came up short against Windsor Charter Academy and fell 50-37. While losing is never fun, Lotus School For Excellence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Windsor Charter Academy is ranked 25th).
Several Meteors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kirubel Lemma, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Nahom Sisay, who scored 11 points.
Windsor Charter Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Unruh, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Unruh has scored all season. Andrew Schams was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Lotus School For Excellence and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Windsor Charter Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Lotus School For Excellence's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hayden at 4:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Windsor Charter Academy, they will challenge Meeker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Meeker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
