DeMatha had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They blew past the Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves, posting a 90-51 victory. The Stags have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DeMatha to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kade Sebastian, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 14 points and three steals. That's the most steals Sebastian has posted since back in December of 2024. Jamaal McKnight Jr. was another key player, going 5-for-8 to rack up 11 points and five assists.

DeMatha pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Saint John Paul the Great Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Coming up, DeMatha will be playing in front of their home fans against Gonzaga at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Gonzaga knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 27 games -- so hopefully DeMatha likes a good challenge. As for Saint John Paul the Great Catholic, they will square off against Benedictine at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
