That result was just more of the same for these two, as East Carteret also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
East Carteret had a senior duo take command as Shamel Baker scored 33 points along with 8 steals and 5 assists and Charles Matheka scored 26 points along with 7 assists and 5 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Baker has scored at least 25% of East Carteret's points. Another player making a difference was Sean Walker, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
East Carteret now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Havelock, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Carteret will challenge Swansboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Swansboro will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Havelock, they will head out on the road to face off against Pamlico County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
