The Berks Catholic Saints lost against the Cocalico Eagles back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Berks Catholic had to suffer through a rough 42-14 loss at the hands of Cocalico. Berks Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Although Berks Catholic took the loss, they still got scores from Connor Pennington and Michael Bradley.
Cocalico was led to victory by Aaryn Longenecker and P. Dane Horning. Longenecker rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Horning rushed for 201 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Longenecker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
Berks Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Cocalico, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Berks Catholic will look to defend their home field on Friday against Eastern Lebanon County. As for Cocalico, they will head out on the road to face off against Conrad Weiser at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Conrad Weiser will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Cocalico is ranked 35th).
