There's no place like home for the Haltom Buffalos, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Lamar on Tuesday as Haltom made off with a 67-42 win. Given Haltom's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Lamar is ranked 476th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Haltom's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kuol Atak, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Atak hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Ashton Moore was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Haltom pushed their record up to 18-8 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Lamar, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16.
Haltom will head out on the road to square off against Arlington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lamar, they will be playing at home against Martin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
