After flying high against the Heritage Pride on Wednesday, the Herndon Hornets came back down to earth. Herndon took a hard 70-51 fall against Fairfax on Friday. Herndon lost against Fairfax in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-36 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairfax to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ronier Peters, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elijah Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Herndon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fairfax, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Herndon will head out on the road to face off against Annandale at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fairfax, they will square off against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
