The Colusa RedHawks had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They received a tough blow on Wednesday as they fell 59-40 to Ukiah.
Colusa's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lucas Price, who scored 8 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Mackaben, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Leading Ukiah to victory were Omaurie Phillips-Porter and Tony Zacarias. Phillips-Porter scored 14 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals, while Zacarias scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Zacarias has scored at least 25% of Ukiah's points. Thomas Durnil was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Colusa's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Ukiah, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Colusa will be playing at home against West Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ukiah, they will take on Sutter at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
