Savannah has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Chillicothe Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Savannah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Chillicothe is ranked 14th).
Last Wednesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Savannah had to settle for a 36-33 defeat against Plattsburg. That's two games in a row now that Savannah has lost by exactly three points.
Meanwhile, Chillicothe stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Kauffman at home to the tune of 62-27. The win was familiar territory for Chillicothe who now have 11 in a row.
Chillicothe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jolie Bonderer out in front who scored 11 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Beetsma, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Savannah has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Chillicothe, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Savannah was dealt a bruising 51-21 loss at the hands of Chillicothe in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Savannah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
