Punxsutawney is 1-9 against DuBois since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Punxsutawney Chucks will head out on the road to challenge the DuBois Beavers at 7:30 p.m. Punxsutawney is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Even though Punxsutawney has not done well against St. Marys recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Punxsutawney enjoyed a cozy 53-36 victory over St. Marys.
Meanwhile, DuBois earned a 57-44 victory over Bradford on Tuesday. Given DuBois' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Bradford is ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Punxsutawney now has a winning record of 7-6. As for DuBois, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Punxsutawney came up short against DuBois in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 45-39. Can Punxsutawney avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
