It was a good run, but the Franklin County Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 58-49 to Commerce. Franklin County lost against Commerce in their previous head to head last Wednesday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 66-45 score last time.
Malay L miitchell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Commerce, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which L miitchell has scored at least 25% of Commerce's points. Jada Palumbo was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Franklin County's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Commerce, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Franklin County has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Commerce won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lumpkin County at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. Lumpkin County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Commerce is ranked 147th).
