Northeast came out on top against Southern on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 12-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Kayleigh Fyffe spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophie Bossom, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Burris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Northeast's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Southern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Northeast wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-0 victory against Meade on the 28th. Southern has also already played their next game (against Old Mill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
