The Albert Gallatin Colonials came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Laurel Highlands 82-56. The victory was just what Albert Gallatin needed coming off of a 89-63 loss in their prior game.
Albert Gallatin had a senior duo take command as Mykel Belt scored 32 points and Blake White scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Belt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrone Burton, who scored 11 points.
Laurel Highlands' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Koffler, who scored 13 points. Aiden Black was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Albert Gallatin's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Laurel Highlands, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17.
Albert Gallatin will face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Elizabeth Forward has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 346 points over their last five contests. As for Laurel Highlands, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Leopards at 7:30 p.m. Belle Vernon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in Pennsylvania (the Leopards are ranked 131st, while the Mustangs are ranked 553rd).
