When it comes to explaining why Morristown-Hamblen East lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyle Cloninger. Despite the final result, he scored 33 points along with three steals. Cloninger hasn't dropped below 15 points for 24 straight games. Cory Carpenter was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Morristown-Hamblen East's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6. As for Varsity Opponent, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 352-1251-2.
Morristown-Hamblen East will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 25th). As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
