The South Central Satellites's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Morgan Township Cherokees on Thursday. South Central snuck past Washington Township with a 40-35 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South Central also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Sadie Marks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The game was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Welsh, who scored nine points.
Washington Township lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gracie Little, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Little scored a full 34.3% of Washington Township's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Campbell, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
South Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Washington Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Central will take on Wheeler at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wheeler is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Washington Township, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
