It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Tatnall Hornets had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by First State Military Academy at home to the tune of 53-0. The win was familiar territory for Tatnall who now have ten in a row.
Rahshan Lamons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, while also throwing for 125 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Lamons' longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Minor, who picked up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tatnall's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for First State Military Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Tatnall will square off against Indian River at TBD on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Indian River is ranked 29th, while Tatnall is ranked 17th). First State Military Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
