The Beachwood Bison will square off against the Bristol Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Beachwood has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Beachwood came up short against Kenston on Friday, falling 14-7.
Beachwood got a big performance out of Jaycob Zabell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Josh Rosenblitt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Bristol hadn't done well against Grand Valley recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Kaiden Kohler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bristol got a massive performance out of Croc Thorp, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Thorp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Diesel Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Bristol was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Beachwood's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Bristol, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Beachwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Bristol in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Bison have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
