The Gresham Gophers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over Roosevelt. The win was just what Gresham needed coming off of a 49-23 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, Roosevelt saw an underclassman step up: Nevaeh Landrum scored 17 points along with six steals. Alaya Heisler was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Gresham's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Roosevelt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gresham will take on Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Roosevelt won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Aloha at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Aloha is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
