It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mohave Accelerated had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the Round Valley Elks get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won 22 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kennedy Lamb made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanner Banks, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.
Mohave Accelerated was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in 26 consecutive matches.
Mohave Accelerated's victory bumped their record up to 28-2. As for Round Valley, they moved to 19-7 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
Coming up, Mohave Accelerated will challenge Heritage Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Heroes will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Round Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
