Eureka came tearing into Thursday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fieldcrest Knights a 12-0 shutout. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.

Eureka's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fieldcrest, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Coming up, Eureka will head out to square off against Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
